Zoom from postcode districts down to individual property polygons. Every polygon is clickable at every level, and every figure states the data it is based on.
Four levels of detail
At the widest zoom you see postcode district outlines such as SE23, with no property points. Zooming in reveals postcode sector outlines such as SE23 3, then clickable street-block clusters bounded by real roads, and finally individual property plot and footprint polygons with sale points for homes that have transacted.
Street blocks are polygonised from the road centreline network rather than a grid, so each cluster follows the streets that actually enclose it. Sale points are decorative: the property polygon underneath owns the click.
Where the data comes from
The map is built from HM Land Registry INSPIRE Index Polygons and Price Paid Data, Energy Performance Certificates published by Open Data Communities, Ordnance Survey Code-Point Open and OS Open Roads, OpenStreetMap building footprints, and ONS statistical boundaries.
Postcode geometry is derived from Code-Point Open unit centroids clipped to the road and building network, because there is no free published postcode boundary product. INSPIRE polygons are indicative freehold extents, not building or garden boundaries. Where a figure is unknown it is shown as unknown, never as zero.
