NestScore is NestLink’s evidence-first rating system. Two separate scores, one transparent methodology, always labelled so you know which one you are looking at.
NestScore for Pros — the 1–5 professional rating
NestScore for Pros is a 1.0–5.0 trust rating for property professionals. It aggregates verified reviews across public platforms, weights them by source (NestLink first-party reviews carry 3× the weight of Google reviews) and applies confidence shrinkage toward a neutral 1.0 floor so brand-new profiles cannot inherit an unearned five-star score.
Every rated professional is cross-checked against the correct public register — Companies House and the FCA for UK firms, the SRA or CLC for solicitors and licensed conveyancers, state licensing boards for US realtors and attorneys, and the NMLS for US mortgage brokers. Profiles that cannot be verified are excluded from search and boost auctions.
NestScore for Properties — the 1–10 home rating
NestScore for Properties rates the home itself, 1 to 10. It combines five weighted signals — property fabric, value, risk, schools & commute, and neighbourhood — sourced entirely from UK open data: HM Land Registry, EPC, planning.data.gov.uk, the Environment Agency, Police.uk, ONS and council building-control records.
The score updates whenever the underlying data refreshes and every input is disclosed on the property page. There is no paid weighting, no vendor-supplied inputs and no way for an estate agent or homeowner to change the score by paying us.
Why we split the brand
The two scores answer different questions. NestScore for Pros answers "who should I hire to buy, sell or finance this home?" NestScore for Properties answers "is this actually a good home to live in?" Blending them would make both worse, so every score display on NestLink is labelled with either "for Pros" or "for Properties" and links to its own methodology page.
